THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION

Assalmu’alikum Wr, Wb.,…..

إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ ِللهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِيْنُهُ  وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُوْرِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَ مِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِناَ مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلاَ مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْهُ  فَلا هَادِيَ لَهُ اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدِنِ الْفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ وَالْخَاتِمِ لِمَا سَبَقَ نَاصِرِالْحَقِّ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْهَادِيْ إِلَى صِرَاطِكَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَمِقْدَارِهِ الْعَظِيْمِ. 

In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful

In this golden chance before going to my speech there is nothing to say but only all praises be Allah almighty the lord of world the owner of universe who has bestowed mercies and blesses to the all of human being in this world, him only we worship him we ask for helps.

Furthermore the blessing of Allah be sent upon the blessed messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) the greatest leader who has the good the mankind from stupidity era to Islamic era from distraction to the truth which full knowledge and technology.

And I don’t not forget to say a million thank to the master of ceremony who has given me plenty of time to deliver my English speech in front of you all on the title:

How are you! Are you fine today! Of course you do. Because you are as the good Moslem, and even the best in the world. Islam is peaces religion in the world that implement the values of Islamic education, belief and faith; always tough us, how to be the good men who always surrender everything to the lord of the world Allah almighty and we are commended to follow the perception of Al-Qur'an and prophetic traditions, because there is nothing can save in the matter concerning of our life except Al-Qur'an and prophetic traditions only.

My loving brothers and sisters

Islam has been growing up and spreading all over the world. Islamic religion has been successful in revolting the life and civilization of human being, from the worst life and civilization to be the best life and civilization. And Islamic religion has been successful in revolting the structure and lifestyle of some governments of nations and countries. Let’s see together to the condition of our period, which has been marked by the development of dramatic economic, politic, social, and technology changes on a worldwide scale. Transcending borders and accelerating people's ability to communicate and to trade across continents, this global revolutions has been represented as the process of “globalization” or, as some view it, the “Coca-Colization” of the world!

Ladies and gentlemen in Islam 

Like the rest of the world above, Muslim societies from Morocco to Indonesia and from Gambia to Uzbekistan even to Madura Island, have been profoundly affected by globalization. Their lifestyles have been changed, as have their thought patterns, and sense of creative expression. Some have welcomed these changes, while others worry about the nature of the transformations taking place and the capacity of those affected to respond appropriately.

            One of the underlying causes of such anxiety has been a multifaceted cultural concern: how to protect a unique heritage in the face of global pressure while upholding Islamic traditions and implant belief, faith and Islamic values; to preserve “linguistic purity;” to defend social institutions and ultimately, to maintain a viable identity in the midst of a rapidly changing global environment of their values of Islamic education.

You know that, our education has been far away from another developed country, such as Japan, America, Australia, Canada etc. Do you know why? Because our national education doesn’t base on the Islamic Education. By appearing some betrayers of economic, politic, social, technology and humans who are sitting in birokrasi, most of them are birokrasi palsu. Who has manipulated the structure and lifestyle of Islamic education. This is hegemony of education which has been infected and influenced by the western cultures.

Let’s contemplate to our president speech at 2007 years ago; he is SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono). He said that; this nation must keep stepping forward, although there are many obstacles, difficulties, and challenges waiting in front of us. But l am sure, if the education as global is increased and actualized, God willing this nation would achieve the destination that we hope together. There are three challenges we will face;

The first; we have to know that in this globalization era, the competition is harder both outside and inside of country. The solution is let’s increase the power of Indonesians both knowledge and skill. Let’s increase the diligent of humans, never give up easily, must be strong, so that we will appear as the winner in that competition.

The second; the success nation is an innovative and creative nation, so that it’s economy more progressive and finally it’s society welfare more progressive too. The answer is that, let’s build up this excellence, creativity, and innovation. The educational institutions must develop the methodology, in order could make the students having an intellectual curiosity, so that they would grow up to be the creative and innovative people.

The third; we have known that Indonesia was rich with the source of nature, has a big potential, a big national corporation, but during this time never be indeed in development. And if the condition of Indonesia such this forever, it will give a negative impact for the advance of Indonesia especially in nature production.

Therefore we are as Muslim should face and preserve the changing of globalization by magnificent of Islamic education, faith and belief; and should implement what have been said by Al-Faruq Umar bin Khattab:

نَحْنُ قَوْمٌ أَعَزَّنَا اللهُ بِالإِسْلاَمَِ ؛ فَِإنّ اْبتَغَيْنَا الْعِزَّةَ فِي غَيْرِهِ أَذَلَّنَا اللهُ

“We are community which noble by Islam; then if one of us looking for the magnificent except form Him, Allah will make us to be insulted”.

Dear audience in the same boat

Those all what I can deliver to you all but before ending my speech I would like to give conclusion, we are as young generation have to learn by hard, develop as globalization era which no one can stopped changing of it owns revolution by strengthening the implant of Islamic values, faith and belief that be effected by the prosperously of globalization but we have to globalized era, colored the world by educational of Islamic traditions, because there in no one thing could affirm the men in his place except Islam religion and Islamic education also could save human being in this universe . Religion and faith must be number one for us while saving the lives in the world and hereafter.
